May 7th, 2020 | BY NEWCA

You may recall that we introduced you to the innovative Bridges Construction & Renovation program based at Green Bay West High School a few months ago when we revealed they would be expanding it to a record 24 students in the 2020-21 academic year.

This top-notch program led by Brian Frerk was highlighted in the latest edition of The Business News.

The program, which works in partnership with NeighborWorks Green Bay, Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity, the Brown County Home Builders Association ad Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC), marked its fourth time participating in a new home construction.

They recently completed a home at 505 5th St., Green Bay, WI was funded by NeighborWorks Green Bay and the City of Green Bay’s New Homes in Your Neighborhood Program.

The Alliance’s immediate past chairman, Bill Monfre, also serves on Bridges advisory board. He sang the program’s praises: “This is a tremendous program focused on providing young men and women with relevant construction skills for direct employment after high school or for continuing their post-secondary educations in the construction trades.

“The trades also allow for quicker access to the workforce without significant student debt and tremendous opportunities to advance the new technological opportunities being embraced across the industry,” Monfre concluded.
