‘Drive Thru Job Fair’ Was a State-Wide Success; Second Event Could Happen as Soon as Sept. 17

July 16th, 2020 | by NEWCA

Ryan Herber, business solutions specialist for Lakeshore Technical College, broke down the good news for The Build Out in a recent communication.

There were 11 Wisconsin workforce area participating in the inaugural event and they hosted 17 “Drive Thru Job Fair” throughout the state.

Statewide participation was:
• 687 total companies participating
• 3,141 packets distributed to potential workers

While all locations saw strong participation, Herber highlighted the Bay Area event held at the Riverside Ballroom’s parking in Green Bay as just one example of the event’s great success.

The Green Bay job fair had more than 500 vehicles drive thru with 75 participating businesses.

Construction has remained relatively strong throughout the COVID situation and is poised to break out once things get closer to normal. It is heartening to see such strong interest because as construction contract awards begin to pick up, so will our industry’s need to find quality individuals to join our industry ranks.

Herber thanked all of their partner organizations that helped make the Bay Area the success it was and even gave a shout out to Alliance member, Forward Service Corporation-Green Bay.

He shared that there is already talk of a second such event on September 17, 2020. So mark your calendars and if you’d like to learn more, feel free to reach out to Ryan at (920) 207-7620 or via email: ryan.herber@gotoltc.edu.
