July 31st, 2020 | by NEWCAThe need for tech solutions to help contractors solve problems and save time has resulted in the use of an innovative tool within the industry: drones.
Construction Dive recently highlighted six construction drones and drone software solutions that contractors are turning to for conducting surveys and inspections, capturing image-based data, and performing quick and easy on-site tasks. Some of these include:
• DJI Enterprise, which claims its drones “add to contractor awareness of on-site progress, and help document a project over the course of years, and even multiple owners.”
• ABJ Drones, which have capabilities related to inspections, thermographic imaging, and classic 3D and 2D mapping and topographic mapping.
• Ware, which is an “autonomous drone used for mapping and reporting on warehouse inventory.” These drones take pictures of inventory, then upload the images to a dock and compile a report, which helps provide managers with the most up-to-date information. While not a typical construction application, possible uses for contractors can be developed.
