The Drive Thru Job Fair is Back! Green Bay Area Event Set for Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020 from Noon – 4 pm

August 17th, 2020 | by NEWCA

The original Drive Thru Job Fair this past July 15 was such an overwhelming success that our friends at Bay Area Workforce Development Board, the Job Center of Wisconsin and Forward Service Corporation are back at it again.

And the timing couldn’t be better. Fox 11 reported today that experts believed many workers furloughed due to COVID-19 will see their jobs eliminated now that unemployment subsidies have been reduced and more workers will want to return to work. "With the federal unemployment subsidy ending last week, we're anticipating seeing more and more people who are going to be separated from their jobs," James Golembeski, executive director of the Bay Area Workforce Development Board told Fox 11.

As an essential business, the construction trades have a unique, uplifting story at a time that our headlines are crowded with doom and gloom: Available jobs with wages easily ranging from $26-$35 per hour with upward mobility working in an in-demand industry.

“This is such a phenomenal idea and a great example of how our industry has been able to successfully adapt to the COVID crisis and move the industry forward,” stated Joe Giganti, executive director of the NEW Construction Alliance. “The Job Center of Wisconsin, Bay Area Workforce Development Board and the Forward Service Corporation should be commended for this innovative recruitment model.”

If you have open positions and want to participate in the next Drive Thru Job Fair in the Green Bay area, you need to deliver 400 one-page recruitment flyers to the Forward Service Corporation office at 726 Pine Street Green bay, WI 54301 by 12n on Friday, September 11, 2020. Flyers can be one- or double-sided and must be on 8.5x11” or smaller sized paper.

The hosts suggest your one-page flyer contain the following information:
• Company name, location, logo, etc.
• Available position(s)
• How to apply
• Details about company benefits and/or wages
• What makes your company special, what is the service or product you provide?
• Include your Equal Opportunity statement
• Contact information if a job seeker would like to reach out to your company (email, phone or both)
