Responding to the Urgency: Join One of the Alliance’s Action CommitteesShare this on Facebook

Our industry’s workforce shortage creates a sense of urgency, not just for our members, but for all that the Alliance’s leadership does.

Some companies have been hit hard with this struggle, while others have thus far navigated these waters successfully. As the saying goes, “the numbers don’t lie,” and there is a storm on the horizon that is undeniable.

This is why we have worked hard over the past year to develop the needed infrastructure and planning to address this challenge as an industry. Yesterday, the board approved four new committees designed to not only continue this important work, but to help us accomplish even more in a shorter time.

A condition of membership is for each member organization to participate in at least one committee and we are asking you to review the following list of committees and contact the chairs of the committee or committees with which you choose to work.

The following are the common parameters for each committee:
-Each committee must have a board member as part of its membership.
-At least initially, a board member or their alternate shall serve as the inaugural chair of each committee.
-Committees shall be comprised of 3 or 5 members.
-Membership shall be comprised of at least one board member with the balance being filled by representatives from contractor, associate and affiliate members.
-Committee members’ service will be one term, which is one year based upon the calendar year.
-Committees shall meet at least once a month.
-Committees must produce reports for board review each month.
-Reports are due to the executive director by COB one week prior to any scheduled
board meeting.
-The executive director is responsible for distributing the reports electronically to the board at large no later than two business days later.

-Fundraising Committee
-Marketing & Public Relations Committee
-Membership Committee
-Workforce Development/Connectivity Committee
