Construction Industry Makes Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturer’s Major Expansion Possible

December 5th, 2019 | Published by NEW Construction Alliance

Green Bay Packaging officials recently provided an update on the construction of its new $500 million paper mill. The project is not only the first new paper mill built in 30 years in our state, but it is also the largest development project in Brown County history.

With 20 percent of the project complete, it is clear that this project would not be possible without a robust construction sector in Northeast Wisconsin.

“We’re on schedule, we’re investing in the area and it has been a great investment to date,” said Green Bay Packaging Executive Vice President Bryan Hollenbach at the recent press event.

Helping keep the project timeline on track are 600 subcontractors—a number that will grow to 1,200 before the project in completed.

The new plant will create 200 new while plus preserving 1,100 existing jobs.
